Welcome to the Oceania Development Network. The Secretariat of the Oceania Development Network (ODN) is currently based in Fiji at the University of the South Pacific. It was based at the National University of Samoa (NUS) since October 2007. ODN's Strategic Development Plan provides the vision, mission, the guiding principles, the objectives and activities from 2009 to 2014. The overall vision of the ODN is: 'A Pacific Island research community with the capacity to fulfill the development research needs of their countries and region and informing policy". Its mission is to 'contribute to an effective Pacific Island research community through the promotion, generation, sharing and application of multidisciplinary knowledge for the purpose of development by investing in research by Pacific Islanders". The current members of the Executive Committee of the ODN are: Billy Manoka (UPNG), Pamela Thomas (ANU), Yvonne Underhill-Sem (Auckland University), Vijay Naidu (USP), Wood Salele (National University of Samoa), Gordon Nanau (USP), Mahendra Reddy (Fiji National University). ODN's representative on the GDN governing body for the Oceania region is Professor Vijay Naidu (University of South Pacific, Fiji). The ODN acknowledges the assistance of our sponsors – the Global Development Network (ODN's parent body); Australian International Development Agency (AusAID) and the New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID).
